2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Email address, username, and authentication data when you create an account
• Habit Data: Your habits, completion logs, streaks, and progress
• Profile Information: Your name, goal preferences (Body, Mind, Order, or None), fitness level, and character progression
• Social Features: Friend connections, shared habit progress, cheers, and alerts
• Health Data (Optional): Weight tracking data if you enable this feature
• Device Information: Device type, OS version, app version, and push notification tokens for support and notification delivery
• Usage Data: How you interact with the App, XP earned, habit completions, and feature usage to improve our services
• Subscription Information: If you subscribe to Pro, we process payment data through RevenueCat and Apple/Google payment systems

2a. Detailed Data Collection and Usage

In accordance with Apple's App Store requirements, we provide the following detailed breakdown of what data we collect, how we use it, and whether it's linked to your identity:

Contact Information

• Name: Used for app functionality (profile creation, friend identification) and personalization (friends see your name). Linked to your identity. Not used for tracking or advertising.
• Email Address: Used exclusively for app functionality (authentication, login, account recovery). Linked to your identity. Not used for tracking, advertising, or marketing emails.

Health & Fitness

• Fitness Data: Includes habit tracking (pushups, running, meditation, etc.), completion logs, streaks, XP, and optional weight tracking. Used for app functionality (tracking your progress) and personalization (character evolution, recommended habits based on your goal). Linked to your identity. Not used for tracking or advertising.

User Content

• Other User Content: Includes custom habit names, descriptions, and parameters you create. Used for app functionality (storing and displaying your custom habits) and personalization (tailoring your dashboard to your unique habits). Linked to your identity. Not used for tracking or advertising.

Identifiers

• User ID: Unique identifier (Supabase UUID, Google Sign-In ID) used exclusively for app functionality (authentication, data retrieval, linking your habits and progress to your account). Linked to your identity. Not used for tracking or advertising.
• Device ID: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used exclusively for app functionality (delivering push notifications and reminders). Linked to your identity. Not used for tracking or advertising.

Purchases

• Purchase History: Subscription status (Free or Pro tier) managed through RevenueCat and Apple/Google payment systems. Used exclusively for app functionality (enforcing feature limits, granting Pro access). Linked to your identity. Not used for tracking or advertising. We do not store payment card details.

Usage Data

• Product Interaction: Includes XP earned, habits completed, level-ups, features used, and app navigation patterns. Used for app functionality (calculating streaks, XP, levels) and personalization (character evolution based on your XP, recommending habits based on your goal). Linked to your identity. Not used for tracking or advertising.

Important Note on "Tracking": We do NOT use any of the above data for "tracking" as defined by Apple. This means we do not link your data with third-party data for targeted advertising, share data with data brokers, or track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. All data is used exclusively within Fat Man Walking for app functionality and personalization.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively for the following purposes. We do NOT use your data for third-party advertising, developer marketing, or analytics for product development:

App Functionality

• Authenticate your account and manage login sessions
• Store and retrieve your habits, completion logs, and progress
• Calculate streaks, XP, fitness levels, and character evolution
• Enable friend connections and shared habit visibility
• Deliver push notifications and reminders (if enabled)
• Manage subscription status and enforce Free vs Pro feature limits
• Process and validate in-app purchases through RevenueCat
• Respond to your support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Product Personalization

• Display your name to friends on their community feed
• Recommend habits based on your selected goal (Body, Mind, Order, None)
• Evolve your character based on your total XP earned
• Adjust habit difficulty levels based on your progress
• Customize your dashboard with your unique habits and progress

We do NOT:

• Use your data for advertising (third-party or our own)
• Analyze your data for product development or audience insights
• Share your data with advertising networks or data brokers
• Track you across other apps or websites
• Send you marketing emails or promotional messages

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Secure authentication protocols
• Regular security audits
• Access controls and monitoring

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal data. We do NOT share your data with advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing platforms. We may share data only in these strictly limited cases:

• With Your Explicit Consent: When you choose to share specific habits with friends within the App. Only habits you mark as "shared with friends" are visible to your connected friends. Private habits remain completely private.
• Essential Service Providers: We share the minimum necessary data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the App (database hosting, authentication, push notifications, and subscription management). These partners are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for providing their specific services.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public.

We do NOT share your data with:

• Advertising networks or marketing platforms
• Data brokers or analytics companies
• Third parties for their own marketing purposes
• Any party for cross-app or cross-website tracking

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data
• Opt-out of notifications
• Withdraw consent at any time

7. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 13+ and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

7a. Health and Fitness Data

Important Health Disclaimer: The App is designed for motivational and tracking purposes only. We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• Weight Data: If you use the optional weight tracking feature, this data is stored securely and is only visible to you. It is never shared with third parties or other users.
• Habit Data: Habit completion data is used to calculate your progress, XP, and character evolution. Only habits you explicitly mark as "shared with friends" are visible to your connected friends.
• No Medical Use: The data collected is not intended for medical purposes and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice.

Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any fitness program or making health-related decisions.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The App uses minimal cookies and similar technologies solely for app functionality:

• Authentication Tokens: To keep you logged in securely
• Session Management: To maintain your app session and preferences

We do NOT use:

• Advertising cookies or tracking pixels
• Cross-app or cross-website tracking technologies
• Third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
• Marketing or retargeting cookies

As defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, we do NOT engage in "tracking" - we do not link your data with third-party data for advertising, share data with data brokers, or track you across other companies' apps or websites.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services for essential functionality such as authentication, data storage, push notifications, and subscription management. These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We only share the minimum data necessary for these services to function.

All third-party partners are carefully selected and contractually obligated to protect your data.

10. Subscription Data

If you subscribe to the Pro plan, we process the following subscription-related information:

• Subscription status (Free or Pro)
• Subscription start and renewal dates
• Purchase receipts (processed by RevenueCat and Apple/Google)

Note: While we market Pro as offering "unlimited" habits and friends, there are practical service limits of 300 habits and 300 friends per account. These limits ensure optimal app performance and are subject to change as we scale our infrastructure.

11. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we're required to retain it by law or to resolve disputes.

Backup copies may persist in our systems for up to an additional 90 days before permanent deletion.

12. International Users

If you're accessing the App from outside the European Economic Area (EEA), please note that your data may be transferred to and processed in regions with different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

14. App Store Privacy Declarations

In compliance with Apple App Store requirements, we declare the following about our data practices:

Data Types Collected (8 types):

• Name - for app functionality and personalization
• Email Address - for authentication and account management
• Fitness Data - for habit tracking and character progression
• User Content - custom habits you create
• User ID - technical identifier for your account
• Device ID - for push notification delivery
• Purchase History - subscription status (Free/Pro)
• Product Interaction - XP, habit completions, app usage

Data Linking:

All collected data is linked to your identity (your user account). This allows us to provide personalized features like friend connections, character evolution, and synced progress across devices.

Tracking:

We do NOT track you. None of your data is used for tracking purposes as defined by Apple. We do not link your data with third-party data for advertising, share data with data brokers, or track you across other apps or websites.

Third-Party Access:

Your data is only shared with essential service providers who are contractually obligated to protect it and use it solely for providing their services (authentication, database hosting, push notifications, and subscription management).
